ABOUT US
Discovery Tours has been taking elementary school students to our nation's capital since 1983. It is operated by teachers who believe in sharing their love of history and of Washington D.C. with their students.
Founded by Ellen Goodrich-King, Nancy Sunkel and Mickey Shannon, it is now operated by teachers, Mickey Shannon, Sheila Hines and Shannon Mays.
Last year, 32 elementary schools participated in the trip. The schools act as their own entity on the trip, planning unique itineraries to match the interest of each group. Most chaperones come from the student's home school with many returning each year to guide and inspire their students.

All participants must have medical insurance to travel with us to Washington, D.C. If you do not have medical insurance, please call:

Ask for the "World Wide Trip Protector". You need to tell them if you also want the trip cancellation policy or not. They will give you a policy number and that is what you write on the form. It must be paid for prior to the March 6th deadline of turning in the medical form to your sponsor.
